First and Second time endings explained.

If you look at the music for Jingle Bells you will notice it has two different endings at the end of the music.

The FIRST TIME you play through the song you use the FIRST TIME ENDING, then repeat back to the start.

The SECOND time you play the song you JUMP OVER the first time ending bars and play the SECOND TIME ENDING

The reason why we use this technique was originally so the composer did not have to hand write the music a second time, it seems silly to write the same thing twice!

Jarara Instrument Loans

I am hoping to get the instruments out to eligable students next term. You will need to return some forms that have been signed by your parents or the person(s) that look after you and returned to me BEFORE I will give you an instrument.

I will be speaking to students that qualify for an instrument once I have the final approval to get them out top you.

Thanks for being patient this term.

Swapping Instruments in Term 3

I have done a lot of thinking about this one....

I have decided that you must find someone to swap with you if you want to learn another instrument for the rest of the year.

For example:

Johhny plays Sax, Karen plays trombone. they could swap woth each other.

I will NOT be arranging swaps for people who want to play on another instrument this year unless I think that you would have more success on a new instrument.

If you have any questions see me on Monday or Friday when I am at school.

Cheap instruments from a Sydney supplier.

Hi bandies!

I spoke to a sales person at a music store that I get my equipment from and he has a whole lot of instruments that are BRAND NEW models but are on sale for over half price!

Call up Rob from Sax and Woodwind in Camperdown and let him know Mr Billiards told you about the sale. They have Trumpets ($245), Trombones ($345) clarinets and saxophones as well.

Here is an article about how band helps you when you get old!

Go here to have a read about how playing an instrument when you are young helps your brain develop and benefits you into your older years, even if you stop playing when you are young!
